All clubs and exhibitors are advise as of 11 August 2010, ACTCA Regulation Part 6, Section 6.17 (h) has been amended to read:
"Where an exhibit is entered at a championship show by the exhibitor in a class for which it is ineligible a Show Committee should, at any time before the commencement of judging of a particular class, transfer any exhibit which has been identified as being entered in the wrong class to the lowest numbered class for which it is eligible and thereupon such exhibit shall be deemed to have been properly entered in the class to which it has been transferred."

ANKC JUNIOR HANDLERS AGE GROUPS (10.8.10)
The ANKC President has recently become aware, through correspondence with Mrs Liz Cartledge who organisers the CRUFTS Junior Handler Final, that a precedence has been set whereby 18 year olds have been permitted to compete at the International Final as she has confirmed there were a number of 18 year olds who participated in the 2010 CRUFTS final. The ANKC Junior Handler Manual states that:
4. “Junior Handler “means a minor who is over the age of 7 years and under the age of 18 years and competes in a competition.  - It is clear from the Manual that Junior Handlers can enter their State Final as well as the Australian Final (which we understand will take place at the Royal Melbourne Show on Sunday, 19 September 2010) as long as they are under the age of 18 years at the time of competing at these events.

PERSONAL INSURANCE COVERAGE AT AUSTRALIAN FLYBALL ASSOCIATION EVENTS (3.8.10)
The A.F.A has in place Public Liability insurance that covers ONLY the A.F.A and its members for any incident at any A.F.A organised activity including competitions or demonstrations.
Any ANKC member participating (in any capacity – entrant, volunteer, observer etc) at an A.F.A flyball event not only in the A.C.T but all states, must be a member of the A.F.A to have any insurance cover at that A.F.A event.
As it is not a Dogs A.C.T sanctioned event, Dogs A.C.T has no insurance responsibility to those ANKC members who wish compete or contribute (in any capacity) at A.F.A events.
Any team that wishes to represent Dogs A.C.T or carry any endorsement from Dogs A.C.T must apply in writing to Dogs A.C.T and permission granted by the Dogs A.C.T Council, as any such team would require insurance coverage from Dogs A.C.T that does not exist for non sanctioned events.

FACTS ABOUT FROZEN SEMEN – REGISTRATION & OWNERSHIP (12.7.10)
“The registration of frozen semen from local or imported dogs ideally should be registered but it is no longer mandatory.” (ANKC_Semen Procedure_08b Last amended: October 2008)
The change in the ANKC’s procedure for registering semen procedure (that registration is no longer mandatory) may have clouded your perception as to the importance of the registration of semen and an ability to track/audit the semen as it changes hands after registration.
