that may affect your showing or trialling
of your dogs. It may also include important
notices from other State Canine Controls

FACTS
ABOUT FROZEN SEMEN –
REGISTRATION & OWNERSHIP (12.7.10)
“The registration of
frozen semen from local or imported dogs ideally should be registered but it is
no longer mandatory.”

The
change in the ANKC’s procedure for registering semen procedure (that
registration is no longer mandatory) may have clouded your perception as to the
importance of the registration of semen and an ability to track/audit the semen
as it changes hands after registration. MORE....
All pedigree dogs that are imported in Australia (including those dogs whelped
in Australia
and previously exported from Australia) to be re-registered with the ANKC must
provide, at the time of registering the animal
-

Proof of identification, i.e.
microchip
or tattoo documentation,
*
Proof of importation, such as a "health permit",
"export permit" or "import
permit",
*
Proof of their shipment from the country of origin to
Australia such
as a "Bill of Loading",
*
Certified Export Pedigree in the
Australian member's owners
name showing all titles granted by the overseas body,
*
Registration
certificate.
3.7
Exhibits imported into Australia that are registered with a recognised overseas
canine controlling
body are eligible to be exhibited and used for breeding in Australia for up
to
three [3] months from lodgment of pedigree, while registered in the name of
the overseas
owner subject to the follow:

A copy of the exhibits pedigree being lodged with the ANKC Member Body’s
office
where the exhibit is first shown
*
If the exhibit is being campaigned by an Australian resident a letter of
agreement from
the overseas owner authorising the exhibit to be campaigned by the Australian
resident, must be lodged (with the pedigree) with the ANKC Member Body’s
office where the exhibit is first shown. I copy of the pedigree must accompany
the letter of agreement.
3.8
After three [3] months the imported exhibit, if still in Australia, must be
transferred to a resident
of Australia who is a financial members of the ANKC Member Body in the
State
or Territory in which they reside.

CONFORMATION JUDGES TRAINING - INTRODUCTION
COURSE FOR FIRST GROUP ASPIRANTS (14.4.10)
Dogs ACT will be running an
introduction course for Dogs ACT full members wishing to aspire for Judges
training in their first group. It is expected to run in Sept/Oct/Nov.and successful completion will qualify
candidates to undertake their first group under the NSW Conformation Judges
Training Scheme as distance candidates within the ACT region.
Aspirants must fulfil entry
level requirements in accordance with ANKC Regulations Part 3& NSW judges training requirements for 1st
group applicants. Candidates will need to
provide evidence of stewarding, (at least 6 times in the last 2 years including
3 full groups) litters bred, champions bred & of at least 2 years current
show management experience.

forms & stewards record cards will be published in due course on the Dogs
ACT web site and in its Journal.

CHANGE TO THE COLOUR DESCRIPTION OF THE BEAGLE BREED STANDARD
(3.3.2010)
Please
note the Kennel Club (England)
has advised a change to the colour description of the Beagle breed standard as
follows: (The
ANKC website has been updated in accordance with this advice.)
Existing
description:“Any
recognised hound colour other than liver. Tip of stern white.” New
description:“Tricolour
(black, tan and white); blue, white and tan; badger pied; hare pied; lemon
pied; lemon and white; red and white; tan and white; black and white; all
white. With the exception of all white, all the above mentioned colours can be
found as mottle. No other colours are permissible. Tip of stern white.”

CHARGES. (1.2.2010)
The Dogs ACT Journal, web page
and relevant documents & application forms now show the CPI changes related
to the Dogs ACT fees and charges. Please ensure that you check the relevant fee
or charge prior to submission of any document or application.
CHANGES TO ANKC REGULATIONS PART 13 CLAUSE 4.2.5
RELATING TO NATIONAL SHOWS. (1.1.2010)
We
refer to Item 6.3.2 of the National Breed Councils Liaison Committee meeting
held at the October 2009 ANKC Conference where it was resolved that Clause
4.2.5 would be amended to read the following:“
"Where
a National Show is held, no Challenge Certificates shall be awarded for the
breed/s
involved in the National Show, within a radius of 1000km from
the show on that day/s.”
Please
note this will effect all applications received by the ANKC Administrator from
1 March 2010.

A.C.T CONFORMATION JUDGES TRAINING SCHEME
(ACT CJTS) (13.10.09)
In
the November Dogs ACT journal, Council is
asking for eligible ACT CJTS aspirants who fulfil
the criteria as outlined in the February
2009 and May 2009 ACT journals to forward
an expression of interests to Dogs ACT Administrator
to gauge the level of interest and the number
of eligible aspirants that exist so as to
determine the feasibility of the 2010 ACT
CJTS. Please complete the following

of Interest.pdf and forward it to admin@dogsact.org.au.
Important
- This is a call for expressions
of interest, not an application to participate. Whether you wish to complete a further group
or your first group, your details must to
be with Dogs ACT by 30 November 2009.

A.C.T CONFORMATION JUDGES TRAINING SCHEME
(ACT CJTS) (28.9.09)
The
Dogs ACT Conformation Judges Training Scheme
(ACT CJTS) will not be in place until 2010.
Until then we have obtained permission
from Dogs NSW for ACT members to undertake
training in the NSW CJTS scheme until our
training system is in place.
Completed Application forms (click
here) MUST reach Dogs NSW by no later
than 4.30pm, Monday 30 November
2009.
This Scheme will not operate unless a sufficient
number of candidates apply.
The following documents were sent to all
members of the ACT Conformation Judges Panel;
the purpose,
to examine the feasibility of running an ACT Judges Training
Scheme before we accept trainee applications. The ACT CJTS is dependent on current
judges expertise and experience if the system
is to work, at the same time any future
CJTS will be dependent on the new aspirants
as they progress through their training
and gain experience as judges.
As from 1 January
2010 the qualifications required to attain the Grand Champion Title will be: 1,000 points
including, 1 All Breeds Best in
Show; or 4 Best in Group; or 4 Certificates of 25
points.(these could be Group, BOB or
Challenge)

ACT would like to remind exhibitors and
triallers that we are not responsible for
uncollected certificates including Challenges,
Best of Breed or obedience title qualifications.
Please contact the affiliate before
requesting a search of results through Dogs
ACT. All searches will incur a $68 search
fee; and where any search would deplete
the daily staff levels for an unreasonable
time, the search will not take place or
the search fee will reflect the cost of
resources used during the search.
