JUDGING PROCEDURE FOR CONFORMATION SHOWS.

 
Classes in Championship Shows and Parades ...
 
  1 & 1a

BABY PUPPY -  (3 months and under 6months

  2 & 2a

MINOR PUPPY - (6 months and notexceeding 9months)

  3 & 3a

PUPPY - (6 months and not exceeding 12months)

  4 & 4a

JUNIOR - (9 months and not exceeding 18months)

  5 & 5a

INTERMEDIATE - (18 months and notexceeding 36 months)

  6 & 6a

NOVICE - (6 months and over and not wona first prize at any Open Parade/Open Show orChampionship Show)

  7 & 7a

GRADUATE - (6 months and over and notwon a challengecertificate)

  8 & 8a

LIMIT - (over 12 months and not aChampion, or have gained sufficient points toqualify as a Champion)

  9 & 9a ACT BRED - (6 months and over andwhelped in ACT)
  10 & 10a AUSTRALIAN BRED - (6 months and over andwhelped inAustralia) 11 & 11a = OPEN - (6 months and over)
  11 & 11a OPEN - (6 months and over)
  15 PUPPY NEUTER - forneuter dogs and bitches aged sixand under twelve months.
  16 JUNIOR NEUTER - forneuter dogs and bitches aged nineand under eighteenmonths.
  17 INTERMEDIATE NEUTER - forneuter dogs and bitches agedeighteen and under thirty-sixmonths.
  18 OPEN NEUTER - Forneuter dogs and bitches aged sixmonths and over.

Rules ...
 
 
3.2.1 No dog under six (6) months may compete withany dog six (6) months of age or over or beeligible for any prize or award other thanthose restricted to Baby Puppies.
 
3.2.2 No dog or bitch may be awarded a Best of Breedat a Championship show unless it has alreadybeen awarded a challenge certificate at thatShow.
 
3.2.3 With the exception of veteran classes , allexhibits entered in sweepstakes or ACTCAGuineas heats must be entered in at least onebreedclass.
 
3.2.4

Veteran - Separate classes may be offered forVeterans at fixtures -
               (a)  Seven (7) years and under Ten (10)years.
               (b)  Ten (10) years and over.

Desexed exhibits may compete in VeteranClass.

A Desexed dogs and bitches six (6) months ofage and over may compete in a Desexed Classes  at all shows at the option oftheClub.

(Note - A veteran must be entered andexhibited in at least an ordinary class beforeit can compete for a ChallengeCertificate, or any Special Prize which is notspecifically awarded for the VeteranClass).

3.2.5. Where exhibits are entered by exhibitors inthe wrong class at Championship Shows theexhibit must be transferred to Open Class,except where the exhibit is only eligible forBaby Puppy in which case it shall betransferred to BabyPuppy.
 
3.2.6.

Where exhibits are entered by exhibitors inthe wrong class at Championship Shows and arejudged in the wrong class, the exhibit must bedisqualified.

3.2.7. Where a judge does not award a first place ina class then the judge shall “no award” theexhibit orexhibits.

Judgingprocedure for challenge awards, Bestof Breed, Best in Group, etc is to be asfollows:

  • Runner up to Best in Group
  • Best Baby Puppy in Group, Best Minor Puppy etcthough classes in order
  • Show Specials:
  • Best in Show
  • Runner up to Best in Show
  • Best Baby Puppy in Show, Best Minor Puppy etcthrough classes in order
  Any exhibit which is present at a Show orParade at which it has been entered which doesnot enter the ring when called for judgingshall forfeit any awards including challengecertificates already made at that event inrespect of that exhibit.

A dog may only bewithdrawn from competing in exceptionalcircumstances with the concurrence of the showsecretary after consultation with the ACTCARepresentative or with the approval of thejudge in the ring.  A report on any suchwithdrawal or refusal shall be made by theACTCA Representative to the Council. 

Ifthe exhibit is a challenge winner the ACTCACouncil will then determine if the ReserveChallenge winner will receive the award. 

If the exhibit is the Best of Breed winner norepresentative of the breed will be admittedto the Best in Groupjudging.
